Designing for a preservationist and an architecturally
significant home requires a delicate balance of new and old. To
visually separate the kitchen and breakfast nook, we kept the
original crown molding enhanced by a soffit. We also custom-stained
the cabinets at the sink to give the room a furniture look. A
custom stainless hood, professional Viking range and SubZero refrigerator
bring the kitchen into the now while architecturally correct pendant
lighting reference the early 1900's. Concrete countertops along
with hand-made custom tile complete the look.
